Sugarfoot and Sunstruck came into our rescue program on September 18, 2010. Sugarfoot and Sunstruck came from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division. Sugarfoot is a Beautiful, Bay, Quarter Horse, Mare. She has a beautiful foal named Sunstruck. Sugarfoot is estimated to be 9 years of a age. Sugarfoot loves attention and is a very good momma. Sugarfoot is very underweight and has a wound around her ankle where she most likely got caught in a fence. We are doctoring her leg daily and we will update as she progresses. Please consider making a donation towards Sugarfoot's rehabilitation.

Update Sugarfoot's wound has healed nicely and she has gained a lot of weight and looks great. Sugarfoot will need a lot of time and patience when working with her feet. I am not sure if she is uneasy having her hind feet messed with due to the injury, but she does not want you to mess with them. She will kick, if you attempt to pick up her hind feet. I know with the right amount of time and patience, she can be worked with and corrected. Unfortunately, we just don't have the time to devote to her daily in order to get her to trust, as we have close to 100 head in our program. We will evaluate Sugarfoot under saddle soon, as well as, update her adoption status and include pictures. Sugarfoot's foal Sunstruck has been adopted to a wonderful family. More information coming soon!

Update 5/17/11 Sugarfoot is seeking her forever, loving home. We do not believe that Sugarfoot is broke to ride. She is a beautiful girl. She will require some time, attention and socialization. Sugarfoot is sensitive to any touch on her hind legs and will require some work in order to get her to trust and pick up her hind legs safely. She can be a bit aloof. Sugarfoot has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in giving Sugarfoot the forever, loving home she deserves, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Sugarfoot.

Update July 2012 Sugarfoot is now in training with Robert Hayes. We look forward to seeing Sugarfoot under saddle soon. If you think you may be interested in adopting Sugarfoot, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appoitnment to see Sugarfoot in training. She can be adopted while in training. This is a perfect opportunity for the adopter to be a part of the training and build a wonderful relationship with Sugarfoot. Update September 2012 Sugarfoot has made a lot of accomplishments while in training with Robert Hayes. She is doing great on the trails and will make someone an excellent horse. She will need an intermediate to experienced rider. She is still with Robert Hayes and this is a perfect opportunity to adopt a horse while finishing up training. This would give you an opportunity to ride her a few times on the trails with the trainer, prior to taking her home. If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to visit Sugarfoot at the trainers in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
